As one of the oldest chapters of the nationwide Finlandia Foundation, the Seattle Chapter actively pursues objectives that have been the core of the chapter since its establishment in 1968 by providing Finnish language classes, presenting Finnish movies, organizing a variety of events throughout the year such as the Finnish Independence Day Dinner and Dance, and more!
Grants and Scholarships
Finlandia Foundation Seattle Chapter offers two scholarships or grants of up to $1,000 each for projects related to Finland or Finnish culture. Application deadline is April 1, 2026. See the 2026 Scholarships & Grants page for details.
Nordic Mixer
As part of a tradition in which Nordic groups take turns hosting a community gathering, FFSC is welcoming Seattle’s Nordic community to this spring’s Nordic Mixer on Friday, April 17 at 6 PM at the National Nordic Museum.
Come for a casual evening of mingling with friends, neighbors, and new faces who share a love of Nordic culture and heritage. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Whether you have Nordic roots or simply a curiosity about the culture, all are welcome. Mark your calendars and we hope to see you there.
