Finnish Language classes Winter 2025

January 9/13 – March 6/17, 2025 (10 sessions)

Finnish language classes will be held Mondays and Thursdays online using Zoom. Beginning classes start on Monday January 13th, intermediate classes start on Thursday January 9th.

There will be two sessions (all times are Pacific Time)

Beginning Finnish – continuation from Fall Mondays at 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

This class is a continuation of the fall class and is not for beginners who haven’t taken previous Finnish classes. The class is for students who already know greetings, the alphabet, vowel harmony, the PARTITIVE case and conjugation of OLLA and EI (to be and negative Ei-verb).

Beginners’ class for students without prior Finnish instruction will start in April.

Intermediate Finnish Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

This class is for students who want to learn past tense IMPERFEKTI conjugation. The Intermediate class will focus on communication and comprehension building and will expect some basic grammatical and vocabulary knowledge. A variety of abilities are welcome, but you should know how to make basic sentences and express yourself in Finnish.

RSVP: If you plan to register for a class then please email your name and choice of class (beginners or intermediate) to languageclasses@finlandiafoundationseattle.com.
