Beer is one of the oldest beverages ever produced by humans—but have you ever wondered how it used to be made? To celebrate 100 years of Finnish independence, the Museum is offering a unique opportunity: to learn how to brew a batch of Finnish Sahti beer in the traditional method, using a hollowed-out log.

The course begins with a short lecture by homebrewer and museum professional, Grant P. H. Barber, in which participants will learn the difference between traditional and contemporary brewing practices. Afterward, students will brew their own Sahti! No materials or experience necessary.
